The Steel Remains is the first of a trilogy–a stunning reinvention of the fantasy genre that places Morgan in the elite company of modern mythmakers like China Miéville and George R. We all know that the American edition of Morgan's last novel was renamed from Black Man to the less shocking Thirteen to avoid controversy. The Steel Remains (2009) is Richard Morgan's first stab at the fantasy genre, jumping the fence from his dystopian science fiction adrenaline rides. I've been reading positive reviews about "The Steel Remains " since it was out, so it has been in my wish list for a while.
